In today’s time when many are leading a hectic lifestyle and struggling to find some happiness and peace of mind in their life, here comes good news for all those who wish to lead a happy and healthy life.

This news is about the World’s Happiest Man, Mr. Matthieu Ricard, a 69 year old Buddhist monk who is originally from France. He got this title based on the findings of a 12-year brain study on meditation and compassion in which he participated and which was led by neuroscientist, Dr. Richard Davidson from the University of Wisconsin.

    Happiest Man compressed

According to Mr. Ricard, if one wants to be happy he/she must strive to be benevolent, altruistic and must control his/her selfish thoughts. He suggested two practical ways of controlling selfish thoughts:

    • People must train their mind in order to control their thought processes. Mr. Ricard’s preferred way of training his mind is through meditation.
    • One must spend 15 continuous minutes a day thinking about happy thoughts.

Mr. Ricard’s suggestions are backed up by neuroscientists who says that with even 20 minutes of daily meditation one can lead a happy life.

Along with being the World’s Happiest Man, Mr. Ricard is a perfect example of healthy and active ageing who is inspiring others with his active and fit lifestyle.

Happy to know about Mr. Ricard’s way of living with systems and values. His suggestions are more practical and implementable. It reflects that if a person is having self control on what he wants, what he is doing, what is expected, what will be the output, and who else is going to get benefited. Such control will certainly help to plan and implement the planned works for leading happy and healthy living.

Mr. Ricard  can be taken as a role model for living happily and making others happy.

Also congrats to Senior Express for such a valuable life profile which is more practical in all aspects.

Looking forward to see more and more such .information.

I am going to try purposefully thinking happy thoughts for 15 continuous minutes each day. Let’s see how long I can keep it up. It will be nice not to be a “grumpy old woman”!
