    Air India

India’s National Carrier, Air India is giving travel concession to senior citizens in which all senior citizens of Indian nationality and permanently residing in India over 60 years of age get 50% discount on Air India flight tickets. For details check here: http://www.airindia.in/senior-citizen-concession.htm .

Its a very useful facility for seniors by Air India. Such concessions will give seniors a choice for a short and comfortable journey as compared to other public transports (train, bus) and it will also encourage some to try some recreational activities through travelling and explore new places.

In view of the recent approval of Amendment of Persons with Disability (PWD) Act 1995 as Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act 2016, some of our SENIORS will come under this New Act. Once Disability Certificate is obtained as per the guidelines, then this group can avail travel concessions along with many benefits meant for Persons with Disabilities. Better awareness should be created among the SENIORS, family members and NGOs working for this group. More details on the Act and Benefits can be posted in due course of time. Looking forward to support this group with due respect.

Yes such concession will certainly help the SENIORS to move with better access. It’s the positive attitude towards the care and respect of SENIORS who have contributed to the Family, People and the Nation. Other Agencies should also extend such facility for the Seniors. On the other side extending such facilities, Government and Community can utilize the services for better connectivity with values and systems.
